International Folk Art Market
July 8–13th, 2024
This week marks the annual International Folk Art Market (IFAM) in Santa Fe. IFAM inspires us to collect and showcase the best work of our own designers and artists in concert with the market. During this time, we invite you to visit us in store and online to explore the collections that represent the best of our one-of-a-kind and handmade.
Visiting Designers + Pop-Ups
Mieko Mintz
NEW YORK, NEW YORK
We are looking forward to our own annual event: the Mieko Mintz Trunk Show in Santa Fe Dry Goods from July 11th to 13th. Unfortunately, Mieko has had to cancel her trip to us due to a family emergency. However, the trunk show will continue as planned and will be featured at the front of Santa Fe Dry Goods with over 250 new pieces — our largest offering to date — including her most anticipated new designs. Select works will also be available online.
Mehmet Çetinkaya
FATIH, TURKEY
Mehmet Çetinkaya, a rare textile expert in Turkey, has been an IFAM favorite for years. We are lucky to have many of his works in Wild Life, including a selection of hand-embroidered silk coats. In addition to the one-of-a-kind coats, Mehmet has sent a selection of Caucasus and Suzani embroidered pillows, traditionally woven Jajims and a selection of antique Afghan spice boxes.
By Walid
LONDON, ENGLAND
For the past three years, Shobhan has been assembling a special collection of By Walid coats that span the symbolic landscape, floral and abstract motifs of 19th-century Chinese embroideries. Join us to enjoy this exquisite and exceptionally large grouping of Walid al Damirji’s best work.
Kaval
TOCHIGI, JAPAN
Enjoy a special release of loquat leaf and indigo dyed silks from Japanese designer, Kaval. Included in the delivery is a selection of coats made from antique cottons and linens – including Sakiori weaving and a patchwork Boro-type style.
Antique & Vintage
SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO
Santa Fe Dry Goods, Workshop and Wild Life owner, Shobhan Porter, grew up in a world rich in antiques. From an early age she traveled with her family across both the US and the world in search of unique finds for the Porter’s antique store.
