Deborah Ehrlich
Hudson Valley, New York
A classically trained sculptor, Deborah Ehrlich has been producing glassware defined by subtle beauty and graceful structure since the late 1990s. In her early twenties, she worked to restore stained glass windows in St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna. This experience influenced her design, helping her to understand the dynamism of light and how it travels through an object.
Based in the Hudson Valley, Deborah strives to create work that is ethereal and graceful. She strips away the non-essential, reducing the glassware silhouettes to their purest form, and pushes the limits of what one imagines the material can stand.
