This pillow is made from an antique textile originally created in India. The Banjara are semi-nomadic people who maintain a distinct identity. Unlike other tribal groups, the Banjara can be found in almost every Indian state. As a whole, the Banjara embroider in a way that reflects who they are. Their designs are bold, the lines and shape carrying the strength of their personality.
