Pierre-Louis Mascia

Como, Italy

Hailing from Toulouse, France, Pierre-Louis Mascia is a trained illustrator and fashion designer, known for his designs that feature extravagant prints. He uses collage to create intricate patterns of surprising visual clarity. Rendered in lush velvets and silks, each garment drapes gently along the form–intended to “envelop the body like a second skin.” This is a visual language heightened by its contrasts: shiny and dull, fancy and modest, archetypical and very, very cool. As fluent in modern sensibilities as he is in the classic, Pierre-Louis’ collection is a patchwork of identities that honors the imperfect.

The silhouettes are sensual and approachable, with touches of Baroque accents that heighten each piece’s individual character. As with all of Pierre-Louis’ work, this collection is best suited for mixing and matching. When layered, the pieces meld into a bombastic whole greater than its parts, allowing the wearer to envision their own style of dressing… one as complex as their soul that lies beneath.

Pierre-Louis lives a lifestyle of constant commute between Italy and France. All of his patterns are printed with excellence in Como, Italy, where he works closely with Achille Pinto–the famed Italian mill that also creates goods for Alonpi. Electric and elegant, each Pierre-Louis Mascia piece is unpredictably classic.
