Zablocki Ceramics
Missoula, Montana
Casey Zablocki is a Montana based ceramics artist who specializes in primal but contemporary woodfired ceramics. Each piece is fired for six to eight days around the clock in a large tunnel kiln. The accumulation of wood ash during the course of the extended firing melts at an excess of 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. This combined with his proprietary clay recipes and the atmosphere obtained within the hot kiln creates the unique glaze surfaces on each piece. The result is truly one of a kind artifacts that can never be replicated.
