Shibori Sensations
Textile STudies
Suzusan
Designer Hiroyuki Murase’s family has practiced Arimatsu-Narumi Shibori for over a century, passing the craft down generation after generation. While Hiroyuki grew up learning the traditional methods with his mother and father in Arimatsu, his young adult years in Düsseldorf opened his mind to the future possibilities of shibori. By studying sculpture, fashion and design, he learned to translate the humble dyeing process into an elevated, modern context.
