Chez Vidalenc

Paris, France

Philippe Vidalenc entered the fashion industry styling and photographing for Marithe and Francoise Girbaud in the 1980s. Collaborating with Gareth Casey, now the designer of Casey Casey, Philippe brought Girbaud into the global fashion market. After many years, he and Gareth launched their own collection of oversized and quintessentially relaxed silhouettes in natural fibers.

The two designers split to pursue their own collections several years later. Philippe’s intention was to return to a made-by-hand model that brought intimacy to the purchasing and wearing of his garments. He has stayed true to this philosophy ever since.

Each Chez Vidalenc piece is made entirely of natural fibers and dyed repeatedly to achieve a profound richness and depth of color. Once dyed, the pieces are washed and wrung by hand, giving them a soft and sensuous feel. Working solo Vidalenc conceptualizes, develops, samples, and dyes his collections in the basement of his shop on La Rive Gauche in Paris, offering timeless pieces of exceptional quality.
