Mitch Iburg is a ceramicist based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He utilizes foraged clays, stones, fossils and glacial debris as tools to re-frame the volcanic eruptions, ancient seas and ice sheets that have shaped the surrounding landscape. Researching the diversity of Minnesota's geological past has inspired his way of making to embrace and challenge conventional ceramic traditions.
