Salvaged is a project by Susan Hart Henegar, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Susan’s forty year career in tapestry and custom textiles is expanding to include designing and making apparel and bags using new and historic textiles in eclectic combinations. The pieces are exquisitely detailed and unique mixtures of recycled natural fibers and vintage fabrics. Cotton, linen, Mali indigo, WWII issues, bank bags, kimono, obi and 1930’s grain sacks are combined with surface design, embroidery, machine and hand sewing. Hand stitched details, vintage buttons and custom over dye complete the signature look of this handmade collection.
