New to Santa Fe Dry Goods is the Milanese label, Plan C. Founded by designer Carolina Castiglioni in 2018, the clothing label was envisioned not to be a prototypical runway line, instead pursuing the lines between concept and wearable— a wardrobe that blends performance, architecture and intense style. Carolina is not just a designer by trade… this work runs in her blood. Her parents, Consuelo and Gianni Castiglioni, founded fashion-forward Marni in 1994 when Carolina was a tween.

We carried Marni’s artistic boldness in Santa Fe Dry Goods back in the 2010s—you may have encountered the label’s wild touch through their candy-striped shirting and oversized silhouettes. As she grew up with the family business, Carolina evolved from playing house amongst the studio’s fabrics to becoming Marni’s Director of Special Projects.

A Playful Rebellion
Carolina debuted her first women’s collection for Plan C in spring 2019. Her practicality and craftsmanship are distinctly old-world Italian, however she merges them with the crisp, graphic sensibility of someone who cut her teeth at the turn of the century. If you ask her, fashion is not separate from fine art or design; it’s all the same beautiful mix.
