This design is inspired by ancient Tibetan thangkas. It features a peaceful deer in the center, a symbol of serenity, calm, harmony and peace in traditional Buddhist art. The deer wears a headdress of antique Tibetan jewelry, and lays upon a cloud of stylized lotus petals, as depicted in thangka designs. Above the deer’s head floats a parasol of peacock feathers, casting a shadow of spiritual protection, and embroidered fabrics drape over its back. Four intricately carved, silver-clad conch shell trumpets hover around the central character, while lotus and wisteria flowers represent purity and humility. Two gentle cranes flank the design, symbolizing longevity and wisdom. The side borders feature an interlocking daisy motif, representing purity of the mind, while in the center of each side border sits a vajra, a potent symbol of enlightenment. The Tibetan script within the design reads ‘tashi delek’, an auspicious greeting meaning ‘good luck and good health’.

Every Sabina Savage design is hand illustrated, telling the story of the collection through the composition and details. The scarves are drawn in full, and the four corners of each scarf offer different elements, ensuring the wearer will display a unique feature however the scarf is folded.
