Embroidered ''Lakai'' Coat in Green and Red
Mehmet Cetinkaya Embroidered ''Lakai'' Coat in Green and Red
This kaftan was inspired a 19th century Lakai suzani from Uzbekistan. In collaboration with traditional local artisans, Mehmet Cetinkaya Gallery has carefully handcrafted this masterpiece kaftan using only natural dyes. The kaftan was embroidered with silk threads using a surface-darning technique on hand-spun and handwoven silk ground. Each piece is made honoring the history of its cultural tradition, with no two pieces produced exactly alike.
