Christopher Duncan is a contemporary craft practitioner who specializes in hand-woven textiles. Duncan began weaving in 2012 after a career in the fashion industry, eventually developing his own library of weaving styles, apparatus, and techniques. His practice moves between crafting textiles for use in clothing and as object, challenging the idea of artisanal works as everyday items. Duncan’s woven work strikes a balance between traditional techniques and modern style through the use of non-repetitive lines that break up the rigid forms typical to the cross-sectional nature of the loom.
