Daniela Gregis
Inspired by the peace and quality of life in Bergamo, Italy, where her studio is located, Daniela Gregis’ look embraces an updated artisanal country feel. She has designed for close to 30 years, creating everyday clothing that is both intellectual and soulful and investing her time in traditional techniques and textiles. Many of her pieces feature hand-painted fabrics, hand crochet and imaginative textures. Her dyeing is made using natural colors with shades that evoke the natural landscapes surrounding her studio.
Artisanal handcraft
Kaval
Every piece is manufactured at Kaval’s small factory based in Tochigi, Japan, where they weave and dye their own fabric. Kaval has mastered the use of ancestral Japanese indigo to dye and create pieces with a true artisanal artistry. They sew each piece entirely by hand from start to finish using antique sewing machines that give the garments an aesthetic new machines cannot. Only hand-painted, traditional, locally made Mashiko ceramic buttons are used. Kaval also makes items out of 200 year old kimonos that are skillfully deconstructed and remade into pieces meant to be cherished for a lifetime.

Exceptional Culture of Craft
Cottle
Since the brand was founded, Cottle has always used natural pigments and materials to fabricate their garments. Because Toshiaki and Yukari could not find a cotton or hemp thread meeting their exacting expectations, they developed their own original thread. Cottle’s signature hemp cotton fabric has a subtle nuance that gives it a rustic finish, with the sturdiness of 100% cotton. It is a blend of old and new that is representative of Cottle’s historically-informed ethos.
