Disa Allsopp

Disa Allsopp was born in London and then raised in Barbados. She holds Jewelry degrees from both Middlesex University and Edinburgh College of Art & Design in the United Kingdom. After her education, she set up her first studio in Barbados. She then moved back to London in 1996; today each piece is still individually handmade in her London studio.

Her time spent in Barbados and traveling to East Africa can be seen in her use of gemstones such as golden citrines and rich garnets. Disa’s work is also inspired by the ancient jewelry of the Etruscans, Egyptians, and Greek and Roman civilizations. She uses traditional techniques such as forging, reticulation, and patination to give the 18K gold and sterling silver unique finishes. Her metal work is reflective, intricate, organic, and has a personality that radiates an absolutely singular beauty.
