Born in Berkeley, California, to artisan parents, Raquel Allegra’s formative years encouraged a creative process of instinct, experiment, and play. Raquel’s design career grew naturally as her original shredding technique, her key aesthetic, gained her wide praise from celebrities, editors, stylists, and buyers from around the world. Experimentation is a hallmark of her approach to fashion. In 2009, she launched her collection of hand-shredded T-shirts repurposed from Los Angeles County Jail inmate uniforms, featuring a distinctive “webbed” appearance to them born out of laborious experimentation. Over the years, her collections expanded to include richly textured pieces made with silk, linen, cashmere, and French lace.

Today, Raquel still favors a deconstructed look and roomy, casual cuts for a laid-back West Coast style. Upgrade your off-duty wardrobe with Raquel's artfully composed t-shirts, tops, and dresses. Embrace a new informal beauty that is both sultry and playful. Raquel’s collections are always, fundamentally, about ease. This collection enters a new emotional territory that is a richer, more complicated mood bordering on “total release."
