Indian artist Ajit Kumar Das started his career as a fabric-printer in a private workshop near Calcutta. He developed his technical skill and vast knowledge of natural dyes during this time, eventually creating his own unique style of dyeing fabric.

Now an expert of the art form derived from the earth and passed down through the centuries, he works with natural dyes and ancient techniques such as resist dyeing. His dye sources range from the rinds of pomegranates, to the bark of the Goran tree, to the red roots of the Manjistha plant. Color is then applied to the fabric layer by layer.

The vibrant and intricate design of each Ajit Das scarf is masterfully rendered at the highest level of skill. Each like a painting, they are captivating in their beauty.
