Designer Profile - Alonpi Cashmere
The purest alpine waters of the town Biella, nestled in the Italian Alps, has attracted luxury cashmere makers from all over the world because the waters are said to create cashmere with an unsurpassed softness. Alonpi Cashmere has worked for generations in Biella, Italy. Today Alfredo Magliola and Gian Pietro (Piero) Tonel are the creative driving forces behind Alonpi.
The Cignolini Family factory that produces for Alonpi and many other luxury brands, started manufacturing in 1948. After years of thorough research and technical mastery, Alonpi has a proprietary technology that enables them to apply rich, saturated color to both sides of their scarfs and shawls, the at the same time, in different motifs. As the only people in the world with this capability to print on both sides of the cashmere, Piero and Alfredo have found themselves in a league of their own.
Only the finest Mongolian cashmere and Peruvian Vicuna fibers are used and each piece is handcrafted by skilled Italian artisans. They have combined beauty and brains to create the softest, most textural, and visually dynamic shawls and scarves available.
